Departure The YYZ Airport Watch Group was formed on April 17th 2004 at an informal meeting attended by Mr. Andrew Cline, Mr. Peter Ivakitsch, Mr. Don McKay, and Mr. Michael Baker. The meeting centred on issues faced by local aviation enthusiasts and spotters at Pearson Int'l Airport. Discussion included ideas of what could be done to help create a safe and secure environment for the many enthusiasts and spotters? It was noted that a very successful spotters program exists at the Ottawa Int'l Airport and that we should consider focusing our efforts into such a program here in Toronto. Using the Ottawa program as a model, we set out to start the "YYZ Airport Watch Group". Please click here for a perspective on the spotters program at Ottawa. |

Enroute On June 6th, the committee and members of the YYZ Airport Watch Group will hold their first meeting. The purpose of the meeting will be to inform and discuss the plan and proposal we have set up for the creation of an Airport Watch program at Toronto. In order for our group to successfully campaign and propose the idea to the GTAA, we must all agree on a set of rules and plan of action. We hope to answer any questions and unite the group so that we can all benefit from a more relaxed and cooperative environment for enthusiasts and spotters at YYZ.
Date: June 6, 2004 We look forward to seeing everyone there. |
